Hi
I'm Bob.
I made this website to share some of my work.

Our Idea
Teach To Learn (TTL) is an international arts education network. We offer a variety of online arts and culture programs that connect artists, teachers, classrooms, and audiences across world regions. Our programs strive to transform individuals and audiences, no matter their age, ability, or background, to be more culturally competent, creative, and curious. Teach To Learn is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. EIN: 83-4700662
Business Model
The Culture Connect business model has key assumptions for projecting revenue that are important to clarify. Culture Connect product line revenue in the model is based on the premise of converting clients at different budgetary levels from product trials. A product trial is a single online cultural exchange resulting from marketing or sales outreach. Overall growth is largely based on generalized assumptions regarding startup capital, government grants, corporate sponsorships, and additional revenue from other products and non-profit fundraising efforts.

Crescendo Music Education
TTL Co-Founders, Robert and Derek, both work for the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2016, they reimagined the orchestra's Crescendo Music Education program, which supports Boston city school students who would otherwise not have adequate access to high quality music education opportunities. These opportunities include a wide range of personalized music instruction, small group lessons, free community concerts, music instrument playgrounds, and more. Crescendo is designed to increase the capacity of existing in-school and after-school music programs and provide tailored support to instructors and their students.
Prior to the COVID19 PANDEMIC, under their management, the Crescendo program grew to an equitable employment program for more than 25 teaching artists who delivered more than 1500 teaching hours annually, reaching hundreds if not thousands of students in Boston City Schools including:

-

Selected Music
Studio recordings of two original compositions. Ella's Song is a simple groove in three parts titled after my dog. Gnarled is an experimental composition titled for the typical state of my drumsticks while playing in punk rock bands during my adolescence.

In November of 2023, I went to Philadelphia to visit my friend and jazz saxophonist, Andrew Urbina. We were classmates at both NEC and McGill University, but hadn't played together in over a decade. This is an excerpt from that improvisation.

Short compilation of candid recordings featuring Teach To Learn Co-Founder and saxophonist, Derek Beckvold, and myself between 2014-2018 in New Delhi, Kathmandu, São Paulo, Vienna, and Cambridge.
Also featuring: Utsav Lal, Abhisek Bhadra, David Six, and Ted Reichman
Documentary footage of performances featuring the World Music Ensemble which I created during a faculty residency from 2013-2014 at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul. The first song is by Ethiopian legend Ayalew Mesfin titled "Gedawo" (Hero). The second is my arrangement of the Iranian pop song "Janomeh" made popular by Leila Forouhar. The ensemble learned both by ear.
